Purleigh

Between 5.45 and 6.00pm on 9 January, two unidentified males, claiming to be interested in a van for sale, gained entry to a premises in The Street, by barging past the occupant when she took the security chain off the door. They stole a bag containing a purse, cards, cash and a mobile phone, estimated value £200. Suspects are both white males. First is around 35-45 years old, about 6’ tall, hefty build, wearing a flat tweed cap and dark clothes. Second suspect is about 16 years old, about 5’5” tall, slim build and wearing a beanie type stretch hat and dark clothing.

Please ensure that all in the area are awre of this artifice burglary and ensure they do not remove the security chain from the door until they are satisfied they want to let the visitor in.


Maldon

Around 7.30pm on 9 January, a male threw a brick through the front window of a property in Gloucester Avenue. He also threw bricks through the rear windscreens of a blue Ford Focus and a silver Landrover Freelander. The suspect is a white male, around 5’9” tall, in his early twenties, wearing dark clothing and a dark hooded top. A request for help to identify the suspect will appear in the press this week.

Between 10.30 and 11.00am on January 10, a purse, in a secure handbag carried on a shopping trolley, was stolen in Poundstretchers. Estimated value £45.

Between 0024 and 0453 on January 11, unknown suspects broke into the Maldon Sports and Social Club, in Park Drive, by smashing a double glazed window. Nothing was taken, but a fruit machine was damaged. Since the suspects appear to have been disturbed, there is a possibility they will try again, so please let police know if you see anything unusual.



Heybridge


Between 4.00pm on January 3 and 9.00am on January 5, suspects gained entry to a white Vauxhall Combi van in Heywood way, and stole various items including a Tom Tom sat nav system, cash and clothes, valued at £520. Information to Pc Tracy Box.



Little Braxted

Around 6.15pm on January 11, suspects forced entry to a locked site in Kelvedon Road, by cutting locks and stole tools, a 10KV generator and a 4KV generator, valued at more than £1,000. Information to Pc Martyn Leggett.
